Commentary: According to the current owner this painting was sold to R. R. M. Carpenter for his cabin on the Bohemia River in Maryland. When the cabin was made into a dock, the painting was given by Mr. Carpenter to his financial advisor, Clarence Underwood.
Provenance: Sold by artist to R. R. M. Carpenter; given to Clarence Underwood; descended in family to private collection
