Commentary: Some time previous to 1951, Schoonover designed this bust of Lincoln as the logo for the Lincoln Club of Delaware. It has been used on the annual dinner invitations, informational pamphlets, and the book about the history of the Club from 1929-1969. The artist served as the president for two years, 1950 and 1952. During his second term as President, at the annual dinner meeting in February, “a resolution was passed thanking Mr. Schoonover for the drawing of Lincoln from which the cut was made that has been used constantly since then…A Lincoln Medal was presented to Mr. Schoonover on behalf of the Club by Charles W. Bush, its vice president.” (Grier, 20)
