The size and medium were extracted from the 1986 Drexel exhibition catalog.
Commentary: Posters were a popular advertising format in the early 1900’s, and advertisers looked to the illustrators for images. The Backwoodsman was the first of several posters incorporating Schoonover’s work. This was the only one completely designed by the artist. (archives)
