Commentary: It is thought that this day book number represents a watercolor or several watercolors that The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine planned to publish, probably in 1907, about the Keats-Shelley Memorial. However, that plan was changed according to a letter written by the Editorial Department to the artist on March 23, 1907. An excerpt from that letter reads: “…by reason of shortness of time it was not found practicable to dispose of the drawings made for the Keats-Shelley matinee on that occasion, and that on further consideration it has been decided not to resume the attempt to carry out the idea.” (archives)
