|Commentary:||This image is the first of the spine decorations for the series of children’s books published by Harper & Brothers and later republished by Blue Ribbon Books. Schoonover also painted the illustration used on the book cover and jacket for each. Illustrator Louis Rhead drew the interior pen and ink illustrations.|
