|Commentary:|| This painting was cut down and altered by the artist. Schoonover cut down and cropped the left side to create #1357cdl. On the right side, he painted out the figure of the hunter behind the rock. He wrote that the “Companion painting
[to #1357cdl] is known as “Deer in the Mist.” (day books)
