May – October and holidays:

open daily: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursdays: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. (July/August 2015)
Rockwell’s Studio open May through October.

November – April: open daily:

Weekdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Weekends and holidays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holiday Closings:

The Museum is Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

Commentary: There are possibly four paintings on this canvas. The first was #1261 which is noted en verso. The day book entry for #1537 notes that it was painted over #1261. The presence of the number “1261” en verso on this canvas indicates that this painting, #2049a, is over both of these earlier ones. The number 2049 on the stretcher could mean either that #2049 is also on this canvas between #1537 and #2409a, or that the artist simply reused the stretcher. The similarity of this work in subject and composition to #1537 makes the latter more likely.
