| Commentary: | The current owner recounts that her father worked for the J. Montgomery Insurance Company in Wilmington during the 1930’s and 1940’s. When Schoonover had a fire, he worked with the owner’s father for insurance purposes and was pleased with the settlement. As a thank you, Schoonover gave this painting to the insurance agent for his daughter in December 1941. | |
