Commentary: This whimsical work was painted at Bushkill, Pennsylvania in 1943. Information for it is found in two separate places in the day books, first as the entry with the daybook number and second on a list of paintings the artist placed for sale in O’Tooles, a restaurant in Wilmington, Delaware, on December 15, 1943.
Provenance: Sold by artist to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flint, Wilmington, Delaware (November 1962); private collection
